Good Questions. Clear Answers.
Taking the first step can bring up a few questions. Our Indiana audiologists are here to help.
Yes. Your first consultation with a HearBest provider is free, and there is no obligation to buy anything. We listen to what you are noticing, answer your questions and explain your options.
Your provider performs diagnostic hearing testing, explains your results in plain language and talks through the situations that are hardest for you, such as restaurants, the TV or phone calls. You leave with a clear picture of your hearing and a recommendation built around your goals.
No, you do not need a referral to see a HearBest audiology expert. We welcome guests to schedule a free consultation directly with us.
While many of our guests are referred by ENTs or primary care providers, anyone can call our main line at (765) 771-7109 or visit any of our clinics to book an appointment. Our team is ready to assess your hearing needs and discuss solutions without a referral from another doctor.
The one exception is our satellite clinic in the Ear, Nose & Throat Department at IU Health Arnett, where appointments require a referral from a physician or nurse practitioner. For most guests, the easiest path is to call our main line and schedule at a HearBest clinic. If a visit at IU Health Arnett is the right fit for you, our team will explain how to get that referral.
That said, if you're using certain insurance plans, your insurance might require a referral for coverage purposes, even though we don't require one to see you. In those cases, our front office team will guide you through any insurance-specific steps needed. But at our HearBest clinics? No referral needed. Call or book online to schedule your consultation, and let's change some lives.
Common signs include asking people to repeat themselves, turning the TV up louder than others like, struggling to follow conversation in restaurants, and ringing in your ears. If any of these sound familiar, a hearing evaluation is a good next step.
Yes. You can walk in for quick support, maintenance and help with your hearing devices, with no appointment required. Walk-in service covers hearing aid cleanings and maintenance, device troubleshooting and quick fixes, wax guard and battery replacement, Bluetooth and app connectivity help, and general questions about your hearing devices.
HearBest has 14 locations across Indiana: North Indianapolis, Carmel/Noblesville, Fishers/Geist, Avon and Whitestown/Zionsville in Greater Indianapolis; Lafayette East, Lafayette South, West Lafayette, Delphi and our satellite clinic at IU Health Arnett in Greater Lafayette; Schererville and Crown Point in Northwest Indiana; and Greenwood and Columbus (coming soon) in South Central Indiana.
Cost depends on the treatment plan your provider recommends. After your consultation and hearing evaluation, your provider builds a plan around your hearing, your listening goals and your lifestyle, then reviews that plan and its cost with you before you decide, so you can choose with full information.
We are in-network with most major insurance companies, but coverage varies significantly by plan. Some plans offer a specific dollar amount toward hearing aids, while others may cover diagnostic testing but not the devices themselves.
When you come in for your complimentary consultation, we will send your insurance information to our benefits department to verify your exact contribution before you meet with your provider. They will review those details with you and outline your out-of-pocket options clearly.
HearBest works with Oticon, including the discreet in-ear Oticon Zeal, as well as Phonak, Signia, Starkey and Widex. Your provider recommends technology based on your hearing test results, lifestyle and budget rather than a single brand.
Yes. HearBest offers personalized tinnitus evaluations and treatment plans. Tinnitus is often linked to hearing loss, and treating the hearing loss frequently makes the ringing less noticeable.
HearBest is audiologist-led, and every provider is trained in the HearBest Optimization Method by Dr. Judy Olson. Patients have left more than 1,500 five-star reviews, HearBest is a five-time Best of Wabash Gold winner (2022–2026), and care includes hearing tests, hearing aids, tinnitus treatment, balance testing and walk-in service.
Hearing loss is most commonly caused by aging, long-term exposure to loud noise, damage to the inner ear, genetics, certain medications, infections or other medical conditions. A diagnostic evaluation identifies the type and degree of hearing loss so treatment fits the cause.
Often, yes. Hearing aids improve access to everyday sounds, which can make tinnitus less noticeable. Some hearing aids also include sound therapy features your provider can set up for you.
Yes. Hearing and balance both rely on the inner ear, so some inner ear conditions cause dizziness, vertigo or imbalance. HearBest's Balance Clinic at Lafayette South offers VNG and VEMP testing to help find the cause.
Lafayette South is HearBest's dedicated balance and vestibular clinic, with testing equipment other locations do not have. If you are closer to Indianapolis or Northwest Indiana, call your nearest clinic first and the team will arrange the right appointment.
See an audiology expert if you are struggling to hear conversations, notice ringing in your ears, feel dizzy, or notice any change in your hearing. Getting evaluated early gives you more options and makes adjusting to treatment easier.
