How HearBest works

The HearBest Optimization Method™

Every HearBest professional is trained in the method by Dr. Judy Olson. Four steps, each with something concrete for you: a clear picture of what is happening, an honest comparison of your options, and a team that keeps adjusting with you as your hearing and your life change.

Dr. Judy explains the method
  1. Step 1

    Schedule Now

Your consultation is free of charge

Book online or call, and pick the clinic nearest you. Your first visit is a no-cost consultation with a HearBest provider: we listen to what you are noticing, answer your questions, and explain what a full evaluation involves. There is no obligation to buy anything.

    Schedule Now
  2. Step 2

    Evaluate

    You understand what is happening

A diagnostic hearing evaluation explains what your ears and brain are doing with sound, and we map the situations that are hardest for you: restaurants, the TV, family gatherings, phone calls.

  3. Step 3

    Plan

    You choose with full information

We lay out the options that fit your hearing loss, lifestyle and budget, with the benefits, limitations and cost of each, so the decision is yours and you know what to expect.

  4. Step 4

    Support

You adjust, and we adjust with you

Hearing aids take getting used to. Follow-up visits fine-tune comfort and everyday listening, LACE AI Pro™ retrains your brain for noisy rooms, and walk-in service keeps your devices working. Every visit checks back against the communication goals you started with.

We help you with the best hearing aid technology from leading brands.

“The staff are so very friendly and kind and helpful. It is a terrific place to go to take care of your hearing needs. Dr. Judy and Marriah were so thorough and really spent so much extra time to solve my problem.”

RogerReview on Google

“I only notice my tinnitus when it's asked about. Before this it was always with me and I couldn't escape it. These hearing aids have changed my life! I can sleep at night without noticing the tinnitus.”

Carmel patientReview on Google

“Dr. Olson provided my initial hearing test and prescribed my hearing aids. I recently got a call from their office for a follow-up visit to check that the hearing aids were still working properly. While there, she also checked and cleaned the hearing aids and fit them with new cushions.”

MichaelReview on Google

“I didn't want to be the young guy with hearing aids, so I waited longer than I should have. Now I'm hearing sounds I forgot existed, and I don't have to say 'huh?' anymore.”

DavidPatient story: David's Journey

“Whitney called to move my appointment up 2 weeks since they had a cancellation. She was so kind and welcoming on the phone. Dr. Judy is very personable and made us feel totally comfortable. I highly recommend this office!”

Carmel patientReview on Google

“I have worn aids for 35 years due to otosclerosis. I moved from Indiana to Florida and even traveled back for an appointment. The staff is helpful and the audiologists listen and solve problems.”

A little reassurance

Good Questions. Clear Answers.

Taking the first step can bring up a few questions. Our Indiana audiologists are here to help.

Yes. Your first consultation with a HearBest provider is free, and there is no obligation to buy anything. We listen to what you are noticing, answer your questions and explain your options.

Your provider performs diagnostic hearing testing, explains your results in plain language and talks through the situations that are hardest for you, such as restaurants, the TV or phone calls. You leave with a clear picture of your hearing and a recommendation built around your goals.

No, you do not need a referral to see a HearBest audiology expert. We welcome guests to schedule a free consultation directly with us.

While many of our guests are referred by ENTs or primary care providers, anyone can call our main line at (765) 771-7109 or visit any of our clinics to book an appointment. Our team is ready to assess your hearing needs and discuss solutions without a referral from another doctor.

The one exception is our satellite clinic in the Ear, Nose & Throat Department at IU Health Arnett, where appointments require a referral from a physician or nurse practitioner. For most guests, the easiest path is to call our main line and schedule at a HearBest clinic. If a visit at IU Health Arnett is the right fit for you, our team will explain how to get that referral.

That said, if you're using certain insurance plans, your insurance might require a referral for coverage purposes, even though we don't require one to see you. In those cases, our front office team will guide you through any insurance-specific steps needed. But at our HearBest clinics? No referral needed. Call or book online to schedule your consultation, and let's change some lives.

Common signs include asking people to repeat themselves, turning the TV up louder than others like, struggling to follow conversation in restaurants, and ringing in your ears. If any of these sound familiar, a hearing evaluation is a good next step.

Yes. You can walk in for quick support, maintenance and help with your hearing devices, with no appointment required. Walk-in service covers hearing aid cleanings and maintenance, device troubleshooting and quick fixes, wax guard and battery replacement, Bluetooth and app connectivity help, and general questions about your hearing devices.

HearBest has 14 locations across Indiana: North Indianapolis, Carmel/Noblesville, Fishers/Geist, Avon and Whitestown/Zionsville in Greater Indianapolis; Lafayette East, Lafayette South, West Lafayette, Delphi and our satellite clinic at IU Health Arnett in Greater Lafayette; Schererville and Crown Point in Northwest Indiana; and Greenwood and Columbus (coming soon) in South Central Indiana.
