Frequently Asked Questions About Oticon Reveal
What is Dual AI, in plain English?
Two separate AI systems running at the same time inside the hearing aid. One focuses on the voices of people talking to you. The other keeps track of the sounds around you that give your brain a sense of place. Older designs use a single system that mostly works by suppressing noise, which can strip out useful sound along with the unwanted kind.
How is Reveal different from Oticon Intent?
Reveal runs Oticon’s newest platform with the Dual AI system. Intent runs the Sirius platform with 4D user-intent sensors that respond to your head and body movement. Both are excellent hearing aids. Intent has a longer track record in real-world use and can be fit immediately; Reveal is the newer technology. Your audiologist will help you weigh which matters more for your hearing and your life.
Is Reveal available now?
Reveal became available to order in August 2026, rolling out through the fall. Availability and lead time vary — we’ll give you a straight answer on timing at your consultation. If you need to be hearing well sooner than Reveal can arrive, we’ll tell you that and show you what’s fittable now.
Do I have to buy the newest model?
No — and we’ll tell you if you shouldn’t. Newest doesn’t mean best-for-you. Many patients do better with Intent or Zeal depending on their hearing, their ears, and their budget. The evaluation comes first; the device recommendation comes out of it.
Can I control Reveal from my phone?
Yes. The Oticon Companion app lets you control, customize, and personalize your hearing aids from your phone — volume, program changes, and settings, without a trip to the clinic.
How do I charge Oticon Reveal?
Reveal is rechargeable, with a Desk Charger for home and a portable SmartCharger for when you travel.
Does insurance cover Oticon Reveal?
Coverage varies by plan. Our team will review your benefits and discuss financing options during your consultation. If your plan has a device allowance, we’ll also show you what that allowance covers across the full Oticon range — sometimes a different model gets you more hearing for the same out-of-pocket.
What’s the difference between Reveal and an over-the-counter hearing aid?
Over-the-counter devices provide basic amplification without professional assessment. Reveal is a prescription medical device, professionally fit using Real Ear Measurement with advanced AI sound processing. The difference in clarity, comfort, and long-term brain-health support is significant.
